Our Placemaking Initiatives

HECS employs several key methods to breathe new life into our heartlands:

• Heyheartlands Instagram Page: Through our Heyheartlands Instagram page, we showcase interesting places and hidden gems within the heartlands, highlighting the unique character of each community and encouraging both residents and visitors to explore and appreciate these areas.
• Heartland Festival: Our signature annual event, the Heartland Festival, is designed to celebrate and bring together the community. This vibrant festival features a range of activities, performances, and local showcases, creating memorable experiences and fostering a strong sense of community spirit.
• Merchant Association Support: We assist local merchants’ associations in organizing placemaking activities that match the unique character and needs of their local area. By collaborating closely with these associations, we ensure that the activities are relevant and impactful, driving both community engagement and local business growth.
